Well, I have a biochem test in less than an hour for which I am uncertain if I am ready. I reviewed all of the amino acids, and I think I know all of the groups. I can draw at least one amino acid from each group. Just to remind myself:

Aliphatic:
Glycine (Gly, G) R=H
Alanine (Ala, A) R=CH3
Valine (Val, V)
Methionine (Met, M)
Leucine (Leu, L)
Isoleucine (Ile, I)

Cyclic Aliphatic:
Proline (Pro, P) R= CH2CH2CH2

Aromatic:
Tyrosine (Tyr, Y)
Phenylalanine (Phe, F) R=CH2Ph
Tryptophan (Trp, W)

Acids and their Amides
Glutamic Acid (Glu, E)
Glutamine (Gln, Q)
Aspartic Acid (Asp, N) R=CH2COOH

Bases:
Lysine (lys, K)
Arginine (Arg, R) R=CH2CH2CH2NHCH(NH2)2
Histidine (His, H)

Oxygen and Sulfur containing groups
Serine (Ser, S) R=CH2OH
Threonine (Thr, T)
Cysteine (Cys, C)

Ok, I know them. I'm pretty much ready, I think, for this test. I had better be ready is all I can say though.

Yes, we've equaled our total losses from last year already, including the bowl game. MSU sucks. Who have they played so far? I mean, come on, even we managed two TDs on them. Although we do look like we may be improving. We're still in for a lot more losses. But you know what? That's ok, and you know why? Because we're not MSU. (Or Michigan. Or USC. Or anyone else.)

Oh, and the day ND joins a conference is the day I mail back my diploma.

And maybe I'll update again one of these days.

Football is different here than the other sports. We've never joined a conference and we never will. If you're not really into college football, and particularly Notre Dame football, you just wouldn't get it.

And MSU sucks no matter what you say. Four wins does not a good season make, either.
