So it's halfway through my Saturday off, and I'm sitting on the computer with nothing to show for it.

Well, actually, I do, I'm 10 chapters through the Da Vinci Code, which we're supposed to have read for Tuesday. Yeah, not happening. I'm doing 20 chapters a day (there are 106 in the book, which is an average of about 4 pages per chapter), and frankly, I don't like the book so far. Not because of the whole religion controversy, but just because I don't find it very intellectually stimulating. I am far more of a non-fiction person or a classical literature person than I am modern lit. There are of course exceptions, like Modern Latin American literature. For a brief divergence, I should mention that the last 60 years of LA lit have been the greatest in Latin American history. Talk about a cultural golden age that many people are missing. Gabriel Garcia Marquez will probably be remembered as the greatest LA literary figure in history, and maybe the greatest author of the 20th Century. Amazing work, frankly.

Anyways, I have done absolutely nothing else of productivity. I haven't even taken a shower yet today (probably won't either).

However, in exciting news, I get to work on MONDAY! It's probably going to only be about 2 hours, but still. OMG. Yay. Money.

By the way, I get a raise in October from $9.16 per hour to $9.41 per hour. Serious excitement there. Next year I'll get another raise to $9.66, I think. Assuming that my boss will keep me on the job.

So I'm going to try to find articles on Dale Earnhart Jr/Sr now. Talk about non-fun.
